Over the past eight years we've had many fun, traditional Girl Scout experiences. Here are just a few.
Like most Girl Scouts, we love to explore outdoors. We go camping at least once every year and have earned several National Park Junior Ranger badges. We love horseback riding and hiking too.
We love to help out in our community. We've planted flowers at the local fire station, picked up trash along the Potomac River, installed a butterfly way station in North Carolina and spend time visiting people at our local nursing home. This year we even worked with a local quilting guild to make a quilt for one of our sister Girl Scouts who was having sugery.
We enjoy traditional Girl Scout events like investiture and flag ceremonies, as well as learning about other cultures for Thinking Day.
Every year we participate in a STEM activity. We started out with Junior First Lego League, then graduated to First Lego League. One year we participated in the Junior Solar Sprint competition and brought home 6 of 9 awards! VEX IQ is really fun and the older girls hope to work with VEX starting this fall.
We've worked hard through the years to raise money for all of our activities. We sell cookies, have bake sales, make homemade pies and candies - we've even chopped wood!
And we wouldn't be Girl Scouts if we didn't do crafts and go on adventures.
